This 15-hour intensive course, "Level Up: Mastering Gaming Disorder Treatment," provides mental health professionals with a comprehensive understanding of gaming disorder and evidence-based treatment strategies. Participants will delve into prominent theoretical models, including behavioral, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), exploring their research foundations and clinical applications. Through a case study approach, clinicians will learn to assess, diagnose, and treat gaming disorder effectively, developing tailored interventions that foster client motivation, self-regulation, and healthy coping mechanisms.   • Identify the core components of Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) assessment, including screening tools and diagnostic criteria according to the ICD-11 framework.

  • Differentiate between abstinence-based and harm reduction approaches in the treatment of IGD, articulating the benefits and limitations of each.

  • Apply knowledge of co-occurring disorders commonly associated with IGD (e.g., ADHD, ASD, depression, anxiety) to inform case conceptualization and treatment planning.

  • Accurately differentiate between behavioral, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, and Family Systems approaches to gaming disorder treatment.

  • Apply theoretical knowledge to develop personalized treatment plans for clients presenting with gaming disorder.

  • Complete a case conceptualization and treatment plan at the conclusion of the course.

  • Articulate emerging trends as they relate to gaming disorder, gambling and artificial intelligence.

  • Provide reflections based on documentaries discussing the current issues in the video gaming industry as it relates to addictive game design.
